Steven Blumenau

Steven Blumenau is currently an advisor at Appranix. Steven has over twenty five years of experience in the industry, including founding and CEO-ing their own companies.

Steven started their career as a senior staff scientist at GenRad in 1980. After moving to S&S Software in 1978, they became their architect and founder. In 1995, they joined EMC as their Sr. Director of Advanced Development/Emerging Technologies.

In 2004, Steven took on the role of CEO and founder at Avalere, which was acquired by Iron Mountain in 2007. After a short time as VP Worldwide Digital Archive Sales at Iron Mountain, they left in 2010 to join Bessemer Venture Partners as an EIR. In 2017, they became VP New Business and Technologies at Actifio, which was acquired by Google in 2021.
