Matthew Clemonds

Matthew Clemonds has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Matthew started their career in 1987 as a Hospital Corpsman in the US Navy. After their military service, they worked as a Master Instructor for PADI, where they managed a profitable business and trained over 500 students as a SCUBA Diving Instructor and Underwater Photographer.

In 2002, Clemonds joined Texas A&M University as a Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant, where they conducted various GIS-related projects and taught Principles of Geographic Information Systems. Matthew then moved on to Texas A&M University System, where they served as a Project Manager and Assistant, overseeing a large-scale mercury abatement project and receiving recognition for their outstanding work.

Clemonds entered the private sector in 2005 with Advanced GIS Technology, LLC, where they worked as a GIS Project Manager and applied their technical expertise to exceed client expectations and contribute to company growth. Matthew later transitioned to the role of Manager of GIS & Field Services at Advanced GIS Technology, LLC, an EMS Group Company, where they managed and trained teams of field services and GIS professionals.

In 2007, Clemonds joined EMS USA as the General Manager for GIS, Drafting, & Surveying, where they had full operating responsibility for a division of approximately 50 employees. Matthew handled profit and loss, personnel issues, operations, business development, and customer relations, among other responsibilities.

After leaving EMS USA, Clemonds joined AK Environmental, LLC in 2008 as the Division Manager for GIS & Surveying, where they managed a team providing advanced GIS, mapping, and survey deliverables to clients. Matthew developed and implemented problem-solving techniques and tools for planning, management, analysis, and regulatory purposes.

In 2011, Clemonds started their own company, MaBoTek, Inc., a GIS, Mapping, and Survey Services Company, where they served as President and Owner. Matthew provided technical and analytical support for GIS services, spatial database development, remote sensing, and survey projects.

Matthew'smost recent position is with Appreciation Financial since 2016, where they serve as an Agency Vice President and Licensed Retirement Specialist. In this role, Clemonds helps educators prepare for the future by providing life solutions such as insurance, college funds, retirement planning, and various investment options.

Matthew Clemonds completed their education in a chronological manner. Matthew began their academic journey at Lone Star College in 1999 and obtained an Associate of Science degree in Biology, Geology, and Geography in the year 2000. Following this, they enrolled at Texas A&M University and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography, GIS, and Remote Sensing from 2000 to 2002. Matthew further pursued their education at Texas A&M University, completing a Master of Science degree in the same field of study, specifically Geography, GIS, and Remote Sensing, from 2003 to 2005.
