Osama Abu Oun has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Osama is currently working as a Cloud Security Consultant at Appsbroker Ltd since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Sparta Global from January 2021 to May 2022 as a DevSecOps/Cyber Security Trainer.

In terms of research roles, Osama worked at the University of Kent as a Research Associate from July 2018 to December 2020. Here, they contributed to two projects, the Quantum Technology Research Hub and EMPHASIS, focusing on RNG testing tools development, Honeypot usage, and AI techniques for detecting and preventing ransomware attacks.

Osama also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Westminster from July 2017 to July 2018. During this time, they participated in the COLA Project, which involved designing a new framework for application orchestration on private/public clouds using Docker, LXC, Docker Swarm, Linux, and Python.

Osama's previous experience includes working as a Scientific Researcher (Postdoc) at Orange from December 2015 to November 2016. Osama was responsible for developing the networked multi-system emulation environment for testing navigation systems. Before that, they worked as a Network Lab Instructor and Scientific Researcher at Université de Franche-Comté from September 2012 to March 2015. This involved practical works in computer networking courses and developing a networked multi-system emulation environment for testing IoT systems.

In terms of educational roles, Osama worked as a Network Lab Instructor at Arab International University from October 2008 to August 2011. Osama delivered lectures on various networking subjects and conducted practical works. Additionally, they served as the Vice Director at ICT Incubateur - Syrian Computer Society Network (SCS) from January 2010 to November 2010, where they managed the administrative staff, handled incubatee requests, and prepared progress reports.

In their earlier career, Osama held several roles at ALOOLA, Syrian Computer Society Network (SCS-NET) from February 2003 to December 2008. Osama established the R&D department, developed strategic solutions for enterprises, and managed various projects. Osama also worked as a Network Engineer, where they designed and configured VPNs, managed firewalls, and created network designs for connecting centers and universities.

Lastly, Osama worked as an IT Manager at Arab International University from February 2006 to February 2007. Here, they established the department, designed the network infrastructure, and managed the academic system technical proposals.

Osama Abu Oun began their education journey in 1998 at Damascus University, where they studied Networks and Computer Systems. Osama completed their studies in 2003, achieving a grade of 69.92%.

In 2011, Osama pursued further education at Université de Franche-Comté, enrolling in the Master 2 program in Réseaux et Informatique Mobile. Osama completed this degree in 2012.

Building on their academic achievements, Osama went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications, specifically focusing on the Internet of Things. Osama pursued their PhD at Université de Franche-Comté from 2012 to 2015.

Osama has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In November 2020, they became an IBM Cybersecurity Analyst and acquired certifications in IBM QRadar SIEM Foundation and Security Analyst Fundamentals. In November 2021, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate through Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, they achieved the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner certification in November 2021.

Further expanding their expertise, Osama pursued certifications from Google. Osama attained the Google Cloud Certified - Cloud Digital Leader certification in July 2022. In May 2023, they achieved the Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer certification. Additionally, they obtained the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification in June 2023.

It is also worth mentioning that Osama has completed a course on Internet of Things & Augmented Reality Emerging Technologies at Yonsei University, although the specific details of completion month and year are not provided.
