Arlene Tran

Arlene Tran has worked in the cosmetics industry for the past two years. In 2020, they began working at APR Beauty Group Inc. as the R&D Team Leader - Lead Formulation Chemist. In this role, they have developed new formulas relating to make-up cosmetics and skin care, reverse engineered benchmark products and commercial products, conducted research on raw materials, and performed quality control and stability testing for product and brand development. Arlene has also held the roles of R&D Cosmetic Chemist II, R&D Cosmetic Chemist I, Quality Control Chemist, and R&D Junior Cosmetic Chemist at APR Beauty Group Inc. In 2018, they began working at Vaughan Mills Eye Care as an Optometric Assistant, where they performed ocular pre-testing, retinal and Optomap imaging, Visual Field Testing, and product training on insertion and removal of contact lenses. Arlene was also responsible for assisting patients with scheduling appointments, maintaining inventory and product sales, and OHIP billing and direct billing to private insurance providers. In 2019, they worked as a Co-op Student at Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics North America, where they assisted in producing high quality Lush products through filling, pouring, and pressing bulk, and was knowledgeable in production equipment operation and cleaning procedures of Unifiller filling machinery, Unifiller transfer pumps, and AESUS liquid filling systems. Arlene was also involved in quality control for product labeling and packaging, working together with machine operators on AESUS and NITA labeling lines.

Arlene Tran obtained their Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Science from Seneca College in 2020. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science - BS in Honors in Biology & Psychology from York University in 2017. In 2019, they obtained their Beauty Specialist Certification Program (BSCP) from Cosmetics Alliance Canada.
