Welmoed Spahr

Welmoed Spahr is a seasoned publishing executive currently serving as the VP of Publishing for the Springer Nature Books Group since January 2019, where the focus is on managing the Computer Science books program and overseeing the publication of 1,500 books and 300 video titles annually. In addition, Spahr has been the Managing Director of Apress Media, LLC since November 2014, directing its strategic and operational efforts. Previously, Spahr held various roles at Springer Nature Group, including Executive Publisher for Behavioral Sciences and Senior Editor for Social Sciences, emphasizing team management and Open Access publishing. Early career experience includes editorial positions at Kluwer Academic Publishers and Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory US. Spahr holds an LL.M. in Law from the University of Amsterdam.
