Michelle Devine Giese, BS SAC, has extensive work experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services. Michelle started their career in 1996 at STEP Industries, where they served as President. During their time at STEP Industries, Michelle oversaw the employment and support of men and women in recovery from substance use disorders. In 2014, they expanded the organization's services by adding sober living homes to their programs. In 2018, Michelle played a key role in merging STEP Industries with Mooring Programs to form Apricity, a comprehensive recovery community offering treatment, employment, and recovery support services. Michelle currently holds the position of CEO at Apricity. In addition to their work at STEP Industries and Apricity, Michelle was a member of the Appleton Downtown Rotary from 2009 to 2018.
Michelle Devine Giese has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Michelle attended Appleton West High School prior to attending college. Michelle also completed a Substance Abuse Counselor program at Fox Valley Technical College. In addition to their formal education, Michelle has obtained certifications as a Substance Abuse Counselor from the Wisconsin Department of Safety & Professional Services and from the Substance Abuse Certificate Program at UW-Madison Continuing Studies.
