Stirling Peebles has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 2002, Stirling worked as an intern at Woodbury College, where they were responsible for computer-related tasks such as software management and hardware troubleshooting. In 2004, Stirling served as a Computer Assistant at the Vermont Film Commission, where they scanned and edited pictures of movie locations for the commission's website. At Think College Vermont, Stirling held multiple roles including Production Assistant in 2012 and 2013, and as a Think College Vermont Dissemination Assistant from 2014 onwards. In these positions, Stirling worked with various social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, and also took photographs of students and mentors for use in different media formats. Stirling also had roles as a Vermont APSE Chapter Board Member and Temporary Vice President from 2015 to the present, as well as a Consultant at the Institute for Community Inclusion from 2016 to 2017 and at the Open Society Foundations in 2017. Additionally, Stirling served as a Dissmination Coordinator and Life History Producer at Green Mountain Self-Advocates, where they conducted interviews, filmed videos, and managed the Self Advocacy Resources and Technical Assistance Center Facebook page.

Stirling Peebles has a diverse education history. In 2019 to 2020, Stirling attended The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, where they studied Disability Studies-Vermont Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Program.

Prior to that, from 2016 to 2018, Stirling pursued a Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management at Champlain College. In 2011 to 2013, Stirling obtained a degree in General Studies from the University of Vermont through their Continuing Education program.

In terms of technical education, Stirling attended Barre Regional Vocational Technical Center in 2002 to 2003, where they earned a Certificate in Graphic Communication & Video Technology. In the preceding year, from 2001 to 2002, Stirling obtained a degree in Computer Networking from Barre Regional Technical Center.

Finally, Stirling also holds a College Certificate in General Studies from the University of Vermont.

In addition to their education, Stirling has obtained certifications in Adult Mental Health First Aid from the USA Mental Health First Aid National Council for Behavioral Health in January 2020, as well as Additional Consent Training from the University of Vermont in October 2019.
