Michael Raposa

Michael Raposa has over 25 years of work experience in various senior leadership roles in the technology industry. Currently, they are the Managing Director and Head of Platform Engineering at AQR Capital Management since January 2019. Prior to this, they held the positions of Vice President and Head of Platform Engineering at the same company from May 2018 to January 2019, and Vice President of Cloud Engineering from June 2017 to May 2018.

Before joining AQR Capital Management, Raposa worked at Amazon Web Services as a Principal Enterprise Consultant from April 2015 to June 2017. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of consultants on Fortune 100 Professional Services engagements, focusing on the M&E and FinServ verticals. Michael engaged with C-level executives to define and execute enterprise cloud strategies.

From 2003 to 2015, Raposa served as the Vice President of Information Technology at iN DEMAND. Prior to that, they worked at Emtec, Inc. from 2001 to 2003, where they held various leadership positions including Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Sales, and Vice President of Professional Services.

Raposa's career started at Devise Associates, Inc. in 1995, where they served as the Senior Vice President of Technology & Partner until 2001. Michael also worked as a Senior Research Assistant at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics from 1994 to 1995.

Michael Raposa earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from Boston University, graduating in 1995. Michael Raposa also obtained several certifications, including AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Level, AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, and AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate Level, all from Amazon Web Services. Additionally, they completed a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera.
