Annie Desmarais is an experienced aquatic professional with a strong background in swimming instruction and water safety. Since June 2014, Annie has served as Directrice aquatique and Monitrice de natation à domicile at Aquado. Prior experience includes a role as Moniteur de sécurité aquatique with the Croix-Rouge canadienne from May 2014 to September 2018, and as Surveillant-sauveteur with the Ville de Montréal from 2011 to 2013. Annie obtained a Baccalauréat in Éducation préscolaire et enseignement primaire from Université de Montréal (2013-2017), following studies in Psychologie at Dawson College (2011-2013), and completed secondary education at Collège Notre-Dame (2006-2011) and Collège Beaubois (1999-2006).

Aquado
Aquado is a Montreal based company founded in 2015 offering at-home swimming lessons, lifeguarding trainings and a lifeguard service for pool parties. After realizing that at-home drowning was a major issue for young children, Annie and William, lifeguards and instructors, founded Aquado and teamed up with the Red Cross and the Lifesaving Society to start offering private swimming lessons in residential pools. In partnership with the Red Cross Swim programs, our team of now 45 certified swim instructors bike or drive from pool to pool to help swimmers of all ages overcome a fear of the water, learn to swim or improve swim strokes. In partnership with the Lifesaving Society, we also offer at-home lifeguarding trainings (Swim Patrol, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and Standard First Aid/AED) for anyone wanting to become a lifeguard. Throwing a pool party? Our certified lifeguards are also available to look after your pool so you can enjoy your time with your family and friends. We serve the Greater Montreal area - soon expanding to other areas in Quebec!
