Alec Michels

Alec Michels is a Senior Specialist at Aquaporin A/S since March 2023, focusing on purifying and engineering protein components for biomimetic membranes used in water purification. Prior experience includes working as a Scientist at AGC Biologics, overseeing GMP production of protein therapeutics, and serving as a Production Scientist at Bioline. Alec held a PhD position as a Protein Biochemist at Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut für Molekulare Pharmakologie, specializing in site-specific protein modifications. Additional roles include Research Assistant at the University of Copenhagen, Student Research Assistant at both Berkeley Lab and Leibniz-Forschungsinstitut, and Chief Marketing Officer at Kickstage. Alec holds a Doctorate in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin, a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
