Torsten Høybye Bak Regueira has an extensive work experience in the biotechnology and science industries. Torsten Høybye Bak is currently the Senior Vice President of the Deep Tech Center at Aquaporin A/S, where they are responsible for driving the development of new reverse osmosis (RO) membrane products and establishing external collaborations. Additionally, they manage the company's intellectual property strategy and patent portfolio. Prior to this role, Torsten was Vice President of Deep Tech at Aquaporin A/S, overseeing protein and membrane development activities, as well as leading the IP department and regulatory compliance efforts. Before joining Aquaporin A/S, they served as the CEO of Golgi ApS, focusing on scaling up membrane protein production. Torsten Høybye Bak also worked at Novozymes as a Science Manager, coordinating enzyme discovery projects and ensuring successful project outcomes. Torsten started their career as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at MycoTeQ A/S. Throughout their career, Torsten has demonstrated expertise in driving innovation, managing scientific projects, and establishing strategic partnerships.

Torsten Høybye Bak Regueira completed their education at the DTU - Technical University of Denmark. From 1998 to 2003, they pursued their MSc degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a specialization in Metabolic Engineering. Following this, from 2003 to 2007, they obtained their PhD degree from the same institution. Their doctoral research focused on the identification and cloning of novel gene clusters from filamentous fungi.
