Tony Hagen

Founder, Chairman of the Board & Chief Technology Officer at Aquatech Bioenergy

Mr. Hagen founded Aquatech BioEnergy, LLC in 2009 as a viable and green alternative to corn ethanol. In the six years since inception Mr. Hagen has invented, patented and lead his team of researchers into numerous industry changing technologies including renewable fuels, groundbreaking waste water treatment systems and health care related innovations. He has conceived of and then guided these technologies from test tube, lab scale to bench test, proof of concept and ultimately to validation through commercial scale production.

With his original patented idea and working out of his basement Mr. Hagen started the company by raising $700,000 with 85 original investors- mostly farmers from rural South Dakota. In six years he has raised a total of $5.6 million, filed in excess of 30 patent applications, employs 11 people and now occupies 10,000 square feet of engineering and lab space and 28,800 square feet of commercial scale validating greenhouse.
