Sarah Johnson has a long and varied work experience. In 2018, they were the Vice President of Engineering and General Manager for AqueoUS Vets, where they managed and oversaw all aspects of the company's operations, and was responsible for finance, procurement/contracts, manufacturing, field services, and client operational support. Sarah also directed the applications engineering/design and technical support groups and oversaw the regulatory compliance and safety program. In 2017, they were the Owner of Johnson Consulting. In 2006, they were the Director of Applications Engineering at Underground Solutions, Inc., where they directly supervised Applications Engineers, Inside Sales Managers, and Lead Generation department, and managed workload within Applications Engineering department and assigned tasks based on project complexity and Engineer expertise. In 2004, they were an Engineering Intern, SPS Writing Systems Intern, and SPS Application Engineering Intern at Hewlett-Packard. In 2003, they were a Chemical Engineering Summer Intern at Umpqua Research Company, where they assisted with a microwave powered solid waste stabilization and water recovery project for NASA, and a NSF project involving the heterogeneous catalytic peroxidation of environmental contaminants, and constructed a bibliographic database.

Sarah Johnson received their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oregon State University in 2006. In 2012, they obtained the Engineer-In-Training certification from the California Board For Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.
