Alberto González

Alberto González has extensive work experience in the renewable energy and power sector. Alberto currently holds the role of Operations Director at Aquila Capital, where they lead a team in the development and construction of a 4GW solar and onshore wind portfolio in Spain. Alberto is responsible for overseeing the management of projects from the investment stage to handover, ensuring coordination and alignment among stakeholders. Additionally, they have previous experience as a Senior Operations Manager at Aquila Capital.

Before joining Aquila Capital, Alberto worked at Iberdrola Renewables, where they were involved in origination and business development. Alberto actively searched for new development opportunities with third parties and conducted investment and strategic analysis of business opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Alberto also held the position of Head of Smart Planning and Control at ScottishPower, where they played a key role in the ScottishPower Smart Meter Programme, a significant investment project. Alberto was responsible for business case development and updates.

Alberto has also worked at Iberdrola, where they served as Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager, overseeing budgeting and financial projections. Alberto provided decision-making support for the global retail business direction. Additionally, they worked as a Power Trading Manager, engaging in proprietary trading in the Spanish market and European cross-border trading.

Earlier in their career, Alberto worked as a Consultant at PwC, where they conducted procedures audits in public entities and provided rating and valuation of funding proposals for social organizations. Alberto also worked as a Strategy Consultant at Europraxis Consulting, specializing in the automotive sector and analyzing structure, growth strategy, and channels effectiveness.

Overall, Alberto González has demonstrated expertise in operations management in the renewable energy sector, business development, financial planning and analysis, and power trading.

Alberto González completed their Executive MBA from IESE Business School from 2013 to 2015. Alberto obtained a BS in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas from 2000 to 2005. Alberto also attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2007, specializing in Bargaining and Negotiation. In 2005, they studied International Business Strategy at LSE. Additionally, in 2004, they pursued a course titled "Inside Washington: Technology, Policy, and Sustainable Development" at Georgetown University, focusing on the fields of lobbying, technology, and sustainable development.
