Muwaffaq Mashaal has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Muwaffaq has held various roles in different companies, leading and implementing cybersecurity initiatives. From 2015 to present, they have been the Global Head of Cyber Risk at Arab Bank, where they are responsible for designing and implementing an Information Risk Framework across the organization. Prior to that, Muwaffaq worked as an IS Security & IT Consultant at Security Secret from 2008 to 2015, serving organizations in different sectors. Muwaffaq also worked as a Senior Manager in Advisory Services at KPMG Canada in 2013-2014 and held a role as an IT Security & Governance at TD Bank Group from 2011 to 2013. Muwaffaq's earlier experience includes positions at Bell Canada and Emergis/Telus, where they provided expert advice and guidance on security and compliance matters. Muwaffaq began their career at Deloitte Consulting in 1995, where they managed consulting and ERS functions and played a key role in evaluating Year 2000 readiness progress for financial institutions.
Muwaffaq Mashaal completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Jordan University in the years 1985-1988. Prior to that, they pursued Electrical Engineering at San Francisco State University from 1980 to 1985. Additionally, Muwaffaq Mashaal holds multiple certifications in the field of information systems security and risk management, including CDPSE, CISSP, CRISC, CGEIT, and more. These certifications were obtained between 2002 and 2020 from institutions such as ISACA, (ISC)², PCI Security Standards Council, and International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA).
