John Colfer

John Colfer has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and IT support. Their most recent role was as the Head of Cyber Defenses at Arachas Corporate Brokers Ltd since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as Security Consultant at Evros Technology Group from October 2021 to February 2023. John also gained experience as a Senior Network and Security Engineer at Ornua from September 2019 to February 2022. Their earlier roles include Network & Security Consultant at Dataway from January 2016 to September 2019, Lead Engineer at Typetec from July 2012 to January 2016, and IT Trainer at Dorset College Dublin from September 2014 to September 2015. John started their career as an IT Support Engineer at Aramark from June 2010 to June 2012, and as a Technical Support Engineer at INS - International Network Systems Ltd from June 2009 to June 2010.

John Colfer completed their Bachelor's degree in computer systems at the University of Limerick from 2000 to 2004. Later, from 2015 to 2017, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Security and Forensic Computing at Dublin City University. John also obtained several additional certifications, including SABSA Foundation SCF in September 2022, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) in January 2020, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) in June 2019, Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) in May 2018, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in March 2015, and Microsoft Certified System Administrator in June 2010.
