Jeanette Hale-Gates

Jeanette Hale-Gates has extensive work experience in the field of medical writing and regulatory operations. Jeanette is currently serving as the Senior Director of Medical Writing and Regulatory Operations at Aravive, Inc. since May 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Director of Medical Writing at a stealth biotech startup from September 2021 to May 2022.

From August 2020 to September 2021, Jeanette worked as the Senior Director of Medical Writing and Regulatory Process Optimization at Annexon Biosciences. Jeanette also has experience at Astex Pharmaceuticals (US), where they served as the Senior Director of Medical Writing from November 2018 to August 2020 and as the Associate Director of Medical Writing from October 2016 to November 2018.

Before joining Astex Pharmaceuticals, Jeanette had their own independent consultancy from May 2001 to October 2016, where they worked with various pharmaceutical companies and managed a group of freelance writers for large narrative writing projects and NDA projects. Jeanette has expertise in writing various regulatory documents to support drug application submissions.

Jeanette's earlier career includes their role as the Manager of Medical Writing at PPD from October 1998 to May 2001, where they managed a team of 10 employees and supervised the preparation of protocols, reports, and other medical writing deliverables. Jeanette also worked as a Medical Writer at PHARMACO INTERNATIONAL INC. from July 1996 to October 1998, and as an Associate Medical Writer at ILEX Oncology, Inc. from July 1995 to July 1996.

Jeanette Hale-Gates attended Potomac High School from 1988 to 1990. Following their time at Potomac High School, they enrolled at Radford University from 1990 to 1994. At Radford University, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, specializing in General Biology.
