Andres Garcia-Clark is currently employed as the Chief Technical Officer at Arbor since August 2022. Prior to that, they worked at SpaceX as the Principal Turbomachinery Engineer - Propulsion from August 2017 to August 2022. At SpaceX, they were responsible for the research and development of full flow stage combustion rocket engine turbopumps, specifically leading the design and development of the turbine systems and hot section components for the Raptor engine turbopumps. Before joining SpaceX, Andres worked at GE Power in various roles. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Senior Design Engineer, leading the design and development of hot gas path blade rows for GE's Power 9HA.02 gas turbine system. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Corporate Technology Staff member, and from 2007 to 2014, they were an Advanced Technology Operations - Senior Gas Turbine Design Engineer, responsible for the development and execution of ceramic engine hardware to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Prior to that, they worked as a Gas Turbine Performance Application Engineer from 2006 to 2007, where they served as the engineering point of contact for gas turbine upgrade sales. Andres started their career as a Co-op Intern at EcoEléctrica in 2002.
Andres Garcia-Clark began their education journey in 1999 when they enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. Andres pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and completed their studies in 2004. Following their undergraduate studies, Andres furthered their education by attending the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2008. Here, they obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2013, Andres took part in the Leadership Greenville class 40, although it is worth noting that this program did not award a specific degree or field of study.
