E. Selemon Asfaw

Selemon is a Director of Corporate Development at UnitedHealth Group. In his role he is responsible for leading investment and acquisition activity on behalf of OptumHealth, a $30 billion reportable business segment of UnitedHealth. Day-to-day he is responsible for leading M&A strategy, development and transaction execution on behalf of OptumHealth and recently headed Optum’s acquisition of DaVita Medical Group and American Health Network and its investment in Sound Physicians. Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Selemon was an Investment Banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Healthcare Group in New York City, where he spent most of his time covering Biopharmaceutical clients. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Minnesota and received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
