Alex Q. has worked in the software engineering field since 2008. In 2008, they were a Software Engineering Intern at Roblox, where they extended the game's physics engine and developed new features for the Roblox website with ASP.NET and C#. In 2009, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Blizzard Entertainment, where they developed for many areas of the Starcraft II engine and developed a PHP frontend for the team's continuous integration system. In 2010, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Google, where they extended the functionality of YouTube's video editor. In 2012, they worked as a Lead Engineer at Clinkle, where they led all development of the Clinkle payments system in Scala and designed the Clinkle network, infrastructure, and security policies on AWS. In 2015, they were a Co-founder at Penny, where they built everything from custom conversation tools to large-scale transaction processing engines and rich React applications. Their responsibilities spanned the entire full stack, from DOM rendering optimizations all the way down to AWS orchestration and configuration. In 2018, they worked at Credit Karma as a Staff Software Engineer II, Staff Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer. Currently, they are a Lead Software Engineer at Arc Boat Company.

Alex Q. attended Bellarmine College Preparatory from 2004 to 2008. Alex then went on to Stanford University, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from 2008 to 2012, followed by a Master's Degree in Computer Science from 2012 to 2013. In 2017, they attended Y Combinator.
