Max Morgan-Kay has a diverse range of work experience in the marine and aquaculture industries.

Max started their career as a Research Technician Intern at Pontus Group, where they gained valuable experience in RAS building and maintenance, animal welfare, and scientific research. Max developed a strong understanding of methodologies used to study the effects of nutritional products on fish and crustaceans.

Max then progressed to the role of Research Technician at Pontus Group, where they were responsible for training new members, conducting clinical assessments of fish species, and analyzing data to achieve optimal conditions for fish and reliable results for clients.

Max further advanced within Pontus Group as the Head of Business Coordination, where they collaborated with partners and clients to create new products, procured specialized services, and negotiated contracts. Max also developed proposals and quotes, reported to stakeholders, and led business development efforts. Max gained experience in analyzing data to improve workflow and predicting future cash flow.

Max later joined ARC Marine as a Marine Biologist, advising clients on Nature Inclusive Design principles and planning marine infrastructure projects. Max also played a crucial role in developing new products and implementing good practices to increase biodiversity. Max then transitioned to the role of Business Development Manager at ARC Marine, where they developed and implemented strategies for a new disruptive technology in the habitat restoration sector for commercial marine infrastructure projects. Max guided clients and scientists through the benefits of the technology and optimized internal resources for efficiency.

In addition, Max has served as the Vice Chair of the South West Aquaculture Network (SWAN), a network of marine stakeholders that promotes cross-sector collaboration and technology transfer for the benefit of the aquaculture industry. SWAN aligns with the objectives of Maritime UK South West (MUKSW) to champion and grow the marine sector in the region.

Earlier in their career, Max worked as an HR Manager & Bookkeeper at Hanging Gardens, where they were responsible for creating and implementing policies, negotiating contracts, and developing community and social responsibility standards.
