Mark Kawakami

Mark Kawakami has a strong background in finance, particularly in the field of financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Mark has held various roles throughout their career, starting in 2006 as a Business MI Analyst at BP, where they supported a project that resulted in the sale and franchise of two divisions of the company.

From 2008 to 2011, Kawakami worked at Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, Inc., leading local and international teams and managing FP&A for multiple departments. Mark then joined DLC as a Consultant, managing field engagements for their finance, accounting, and project management consultancy.

In 2012, Kawakami became the Associate/Director of FP&A at Arup, a global engineering and consulting company. Mark was responsible for corporate FP&A, treasury, and special projects. Mark later returned to DLC as a Consultant, managing various projects such as discounted cash flow modeling, interim management of finance teams, and contract analysis.

Kawakami also gained experience as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at L-3 Communications and as the Managing Director at Applied FP&A. In these roles, they led FP&A departments, managed engagements, and worked on projects including financial modeling, process improvement, and capital planning.

Most recently, Kawakami has been working at Renaissance Food Group as the Director of Business Analytics and is currently the Vice President Finance at Arcadia Biosciences.

Mark Kawakami holds an MBA degree from the USC Marshall School of Business, which they obtained from 2003 to 2005. Prior to this, they graduated from the University of Southern California in 2000, earning a BA degree. In 1996, Mark attended UC Irvine for one year but did not complete a specific degree. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Microsoft Excel Expert from Microsoft and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute.
