Director R&d Global Portfolio - Sustainable Mining at ArcelorMittal

Ana Fernandez-Iglesias, PhD, currently serves as the Director of R&D Global Portfolio for Sustainable Mining at ArcelorMittal, where responsibilities include overseeing global R&D projects focused on sustainability and circular economy. With extensive experience in the mining and steel industries, Ana has held several leadership positions, including Head of Department for Circular Economy and Resources for Sustainability, and Head of Department for Technologies for Sustainable Resources. In addition to roles at ArcelorMittal, Ana is an Associate Professor at Universidad de Oviedo, a Circular Economy Specialist for Greening the Islands Foundation, and has contributed to various academic programs as a visiting lecturer and thesis director. Ana's educational background includes a PhD in Mining - Sustainability from Universidad de Oviedo and a Chemical Engineering degree from the same institution, complemented by executive education at The London School of Economics.
