Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer at Arch Capital Group

Jay Rajendra is the current Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer at Arch Capital Group. Prior to this, they were the Head of Business Solutions at XL Catlin from January 2012 to August 2016. In this role, they were responsible for leading international, multidisciplinary project teams and successfully designing, building and implementing new strategies. Jay also shaped team direction, best practices and internal/external relationships.

Before joining XL Catlin, Jay Rajendra was a Senior Consultant at Towers Watson from August 2003 to December 2011. In this role, they managed strategic client relationships and projects for some of the world’s leading (re)insurance groups and most innovative startups. Jay was based in London and Bermuda, but also spent extended periods of time in Zurich, Madrid and New York. Jay regularly advised Boards of Directors and executive management for large multinational companies and was responsible for firm-wide professional standards in the Bermuda market.

Jay Rajendra has a bachelors and masters degree in mathematics from the University of Oxford. Jay also has an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In addition, they are a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and the Casualty Actuarial Society (US). Jay is also a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

They are on a team with François Morin - CFO & Treasurer, Louis Petrillo - General Counsel, and Janice Englesbe - Chief Risk Officer. Their manager is Marc Grandisson, Chief Executive Officer.
