Defender Of The Bond at Archdiocese of Atlanta

Elyn Macek has extensive experience in both legal and liturgical roles, serving as the Defender of the Bond at the Archdiocese of Atlanta Metropolitan Tribunal since 2000, with a specialty in matrimonial law and liturgical law. Macek has been the Director of the Cathedral Ensemble at the Cathedral of Christ the King since 1986, focusing on music selection, group recruitment, and spiritual direction, alongside responsibilities as Pastoral Associate for Liturgy, where significant events such as the Cathedral’s Prayer Vigil and the Lenten prayer series were crafted. Additionally, Macek served as a Collegiate Judge at the Provincial Court of Appeals, Archdiocese of Atlanta from 2014 to 2016 and worked as a corporate finance associate at Troutman Sanders LLP from 1986 to 1994. Educational credentials include a JCL in canon law from The Catholic University of America, an MTS in theology from Spring Hill College, a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and a BA in mathematics and economics from Mount Holyoke College.
