Previously, Maureen held the position of Director of Communications for the Catholic Diocese of Jackson from September 2012 to July 2019, where collaboration with leadership focused on executing a strategic communication plan. Earlier roles include editorial work for the Mississippi Catholic newspaper, freelance writing and editing, and positions ranging from Senior Account Executive to Broadcast Production Manager at Red Square Agency. Maureen holds a Master's degree in Theology and a Bachelor's degree in Radio, Television, Film & Theology from Spring Hill College.

The Archdiocese of Atlanta is the center of an Ecclesiastical Province which includes the states of Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The Catholic population in North Georgia can trace its beginnings to a simple log church in Locust Grove where a small group of faithful worshiped in 1792. Currently, there are a total of 101 parishes, while the Catholic population of the Archdiocese has risen to over 650,000.
