Derek Paylor

Derek Paylor is a Flight Controls Verification Engineer at Archer since November 2023. Previously, Paylor served as a Teaching Assistant in Engineering Graphics and Computation at McMaster University from September 2022 to April 2023 and developed control systems for a quarter-scale electric formula car with MAC Formula Electric during the same period. Experience includes an internship at Tesla as a Chassis Controls Integration Engineer, focusing on Passive Safety Firmware, and an internship at Stellantis on powertrain plant models for torque management. Additional internships were completed at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and McMaster University, covering various aspects of powertrain engineering and CAD-based teaching responsibilities. Paylor holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Management in Mechatronics Engineering from McMaster University, attained between 2017 and 2023.
