Archer
Giovanni Droandi is an experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as Aerodynamics Lead at Archer since January 2020, focusing on the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to enhance urban mobility. Previously, Giovanni held the position of Head of Aerodynamics for the Vahana project at A³ by Airbus from October 2016 to December 2019, overseeing aerodynamic design, analysis, and testing of the eVTOL demonstrator. Giovanni's career also includes a role as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano, where research concentrated on wing-rotor aerodynamic interactions in tiltwing aircraft, and prior experience as a Race Engineer managing vehicle dynamics and telemetry for various motorsport teams. Giovanni holds a Ph.D. in Rotary Wing Aircraft, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, all from Politecnico di Milano.
