James Walters

James Walters has extensive experience in the technology industry, with a strong focus on program management and engineering roles. James currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer at Archera since December 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Engineering at Archera from December 2021 to December 2022.

Before joining Archera, James worked at Microsoft for several years. James was a Director/Principal Program Manager from April 2020 to December 2021, and prior to that, from November 2014 to April 2020.

James also has experience at Amazon Web Services where they served as an Engineering Manager and a Technical Program Manager - Public sector. James managed the AWS Trusted Advisor development team and deliverables from March 2014 to November 2014. Additionally, they were responsible for driving the features for the AWS development support product offerings into multiple government agencies and private government networks from September 2013 to March 2014.

Before their time at Amazon Web Services, James held the position of Sr. Director of Product Management at Bocada from September 2011 to June 2013.

In earlier stages of their career, James worked at Microsoft as a Program Manager from May 2010 to September 2011, and from June 2008 to May 2010. James also worked at Cactus Commerce as a Program Manager Architect from November 2007 to June 2008, and at Microsoft as a Program Manager from August 2007 to November 2007.

James began their career as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Microsoft from April 2003 to August 2006.

James has also worked at thePlatform as a Senior Manager of Network Operations from 2001 to 2003, and at RealNetworks as an STE (Software Test Engineer) from July 2001 to October 2001.

James Walters obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Electronics Engineering from ITT Technical Institute-Seattle between 1996 and 1998.
