Natalie M. Brennan

Natalie is a member of Archer’s Cannabis Law and Health Care Law Groups. She provides advice and counsel on compliance, regulatory, and public policy matters to clients in the cannabis and health care industries. Natalie assists clients in understanding and navigating the evolving, complex recreational and medical cannabis regulations impacting businesses operating in this sector. She provides practical and actionable guidance throughout the license application process, including help with entity formation, due diligence, and final review of licensee applications.

In the area of health care, Natalie has represented health care providers in professional liability and insurance reimbursement litigation matters. Her clients have included long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, and urgent care centers. She has assisted clients with regulatory investigations conducted by state agencies, and counseled clients on training their staff to comply with new or changing regulatory requirements. Natalie handles state and federal administrative appeals related to enforcement and recovery actions, licensing and certification applications and advice, defending governmental allegations of health care fraud and abuse, and nursing home survey and certification issues.

Natalie also represents clients in matters related to public policy. Prior to law school, Natalie served as a policy intern for First Focus in Washington, D.C., where she assisted the non-profit advocacy organization in their mission to support the rights of children and families. Natalie also worked on federal and state legislation while serving as an intern on Capitol Hill to Former Congressman Robert A. Andrews (NJ) and Former Senator Max Baucus (MT).

Prior to joining Archer, Natalie was a health care litigation attorney at a defense law firm in Philadelphia. She earned her J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. During law school, Natalie served as a Certified Legal Intern for the Villanova Law Interdisciplinary Mental and Physical Health Law Clinic, where she represented low-income clients and their right to accessible health care treatment in administrative hearings and state court. She also interned in the Office of Corporate Compliance and Regulatory Affairs at AmeriHealth Caritas, where she worked with Medicaid managed care health plans to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Natalie also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Linda Carpenter in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County.
