Richard Oey

Richard Oey has extensive experience in the animation industry, with their most recent role being the Principle Cinematic Animator at Archetype Entertainment since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Animation Supervisor at Luma from March 2021 to August 2022. Before joining Luma, Richard served as an Animation Supervisor at Base FX from November 2018 to March 2021 and as an Animation Supervisor at Moving Picture Company from October 2017 to October 2018. Richard also had multiple roles at Industrial Light & Magic, including Animation Lead from January 2017 to May 2017, December 2016 to January 2017, and April 2016 to November 2016. Richard also worked as an Animation Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic from December 2015 to February 2016, November 2015 to December 2015, April 2015 to November 2015, and March 2015 to July 2015. Richard started their career at Industrial Light & Magic as a Senior Animator from October 2014 to December 2014. Prior to that, Richard served as an Animation Lead at Industrial Light & Magic from September 2013 to February 2014, May 2013 to July 2013, and September 2012 to April 2013. Additionally, they worked as an Animator at Industrial Light & Magic from April 2013 to May 2013. Richard also had roles as an Animation Lead from March 2012 to June 2012, a Character Lead from September 2011 to February 2012, and a Senior Animator from July 2011 to September 2011 at Industrial Light & Magic. Richard began their career as a Senior Animator at ImageMovers Digital from January 2008 to October 2010.

Richard Oey completed their education at two separate institutions. Richard attended OCAD University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Diploma in Drawing and Painting. Following this, they enrolled in Sheridan College from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained a Diploma in Computer Animation.
