Joe Imamura

Joe Imamura, PhD, AIA, FASLA, FAICP, currently serves as Executive Architect and Senior Advisor at the Architect of the Capitol since September 2021. Prior to this role, Joe held the position of Chief Architect at GSA Region 2 from February 2020 to September 2021. Joe's extensive experience includes serving as Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and as Project Manager and Policy Analyst at the Architect of the Capitol and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, respectively. Joe's formative career began in various roles at GSA, such as Urban Planner, Project Engineer, and Project Architect. Joe's academic achievements include a Doctor of Philosophy, multiple Master's degrees in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Development, all from Texas Tech University.
