Michele Cohen is an accomplished curator and public art consultant with extensive experience in the field of art administration and education. Currently serving as the Curator for the Architect of the Capitol since May 2014, Michele oversees permanent public art projects. Prior roles include Director of Kramer Gallery and Public Art Consultant for the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, and Principal of Michele Cohen Art, managing public art initiatives and arts education. Michele has also held academic positions as a Visiting Professor at Hampshire College and Assistant Professor at Simmons College, where expertise in arts administration was cultivated. Notably, Michele served as the founding Director of Public Art for Public Schools, establishing a comprehensive art program for New York City schools. Michele holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, and a BA in Art History and English Literature from the University at Buffalo.
