Hugh Simpson

Hugh Simpson currently serves as the Chief Executive and Registrar at the Architects Registration Board, a position held since December 2020, overseeing the regulation of the architects’ profession in the UK. Prior to this role, Hugh was the Managing Director at Clever Together, focusing on collaborative problem-solving and organizational performance. Hugh also held executive positions at the General Pharmaceutical Council, where responsibilities included strategy and communications, and at the NHS Confederation, leading strategic communications. Earlier experience includes roles at the General Medical Council, Lexington Communications, and political advisory positions within the South African Parliament and the Liberal Democrats. Hugh holds a degree in Modern History and Politics from the University of Liverpool.
