Chijioke Okonkwo

Chijioke Okonkwo has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Starting from 2013, they worked as a Java Developer at CATT Lab, where they gained experience in Java development. In 2015, Chijioke interned as a Software Development Intern at UnitedHealth Group. From 2016 to 2018, they worked as an Applications Developer at UnitedHealth Group, where they played a key role in revamping the UI/UX of a major consumer-facing web application.

In 2018, Chijioke joined Dow Jones as a Software Engineer, where they developed a new web-based editorial tool for the Wall Street Journal's newsroom using React, Node.js, and GraphQL. Later in the same year, they worked as a Frontend Engineer Consultant at Buildit @ Wipro Digital, where they led an Agile transformation effort and developed a modern web application for a client.

In 2020, Chijioke became a Software Engineer II at Vimeo, focusing on streaming hardware and software. Chijioke contributed to enhancing the video watching experience for millions of users across multiple platforms. Recently, in 2022, they joined Shef as a Software Engineer, where they developed a direct-to-consumer delivery flow for previously closed regions and brought essential front-end expertise to the core application flow.

Throughout their career, Chijioke has consistently delivered technical solutions, introduced contemporary features, and exceeded client expectations.

Chijioke Okonkwo pursued their education at the University of Maryland from 2012 to 2016. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics. Chijioke'sfield of study for their Computer Science degree was focused on the technical aspects of computer systems and software development. Simultaneously, they also pursued their interest in Linguistics, studying the scientific study of language and its structure.
