Matthew Maclean

Matthew Maclean has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of software engineering. Matthew started their career as an intern at Myplanet Digital in 2011, where they developed products, performed market research, and worked on software development.

In 2012, Matthew interned at NexJ Systems as both a Client Framework Developer and a Server Framework Developer. Matthew gained experience in developing both client and server frameworks during their time there.

In 2013, Matthew worked as a Software Development Engineer intern at Microsoft. Matthew contributed to brainstorming application ideas for Windows 8 and Windows Phone platforms and built an application to help people learn English.

From 2014 to 2015, Matthew interned at Facebook, where they worked on identifying traits of posts and pages to label and developed tools for internal contractors to label content. Matthew also worked on identifying advertisement posts based on text.

After their internships, Matthew joined Palantir Technologies as a full-time Software Engineer in 2015. Matthew worked there until 2019, optimizing build tools and writing a generator for new projects using open-source web technologies. Matthew also helped transition teams away from an internal proprietary framework.

From 2019 to 2023, Matthew worked as a Software Engineer at Two Sigma, where they served as the Tech Lead of "Google Cloud as a Service" team. Matthew built an authorization sync system, simplifying cloud auth management, and contributed to an NYC subway accessibility analysis tool.

Currently, Matthew is a Software Engineer at Archive, starting in 2023.

Matthew Maclean completed their Bachelor of Software Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo between 2010 and 2015. Prior to that, they attended Newmarket High School from 2006 to 2010. Matthew also pursued additional education through online courses, including Coursera and Stanford University Online Courses, although specific degree names or fields of study were not provided for these programs.
