Director, Raw Materials Sourcing at Arc'teryx

Al Liu has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Al is currently the Director of Raw Materials Sourcing at Arc'teryx Equipment, where they are responsible for driving operational excellence in the raw materials supply chain. Prior to this, Al worked at MEC, where they served as the Senior Manager of Commercialization and Global Sourcing Manager. During their time at MEC, they led private label sourcing, raw material planning, and product development teams. Al also played a key role in rebuilding the MEC label team during the co-op's CCAA filing and acquisition. Before MEC, Al worked at lululemon as a Global Sourcing Manager, where they managed sourcing strategies and operations across various product divisions. Additionally, Al has experience as a Chief Photographer at Al Liu Photography, where they provided brand and product photography services and consulted on creative direction for brand marketing campaigns. Al also worked as a Senior Production Manager at Triple Aught Design, where they directed planning, purchasing, production, and logistics for tactical apparel and equipment. Earlier in their career, Al worked at Mountain Hardwear in various roles, including Sourcing Specialist II and Production Merchandiser. Al also has experience as a General Manager at Touchstone Climbing, where they oversaw operations, marketing, and finance for an indoor bouldering gym and fitness studio. Al's work experience also includes a role as a Contract Specialist at Applied Materials, where they managed contracting and supply for custom and commodity categories. Throughout their career, Al has demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills.

Al Liu began their education at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1997, where they studied Mechanical Engineering and Economics. Al attended this institution until 1999. Following their time at UC Santa Cruz, Liu enrolled at Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business in 1999 to pursue a degree in Supply Chain Management. Al completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree at this institution in 2001.
