Senior Principal Game Designer at Arctic7

Al Escudero has extensive work experience in the gaming industry. They are currently working as a Senior Principal Game Designer at Arctic7 since July 2023. Prior to this, Al worked as a Lead Designer at Asgard Consulting from January 2009.

From December 2019 to October 2022, Al served as the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) at Pocket Pinata Interactive, where they managed and mentored the design department. They were responsible for the company's design direction, product quality, and concepting and pitching new products. Additionally, from September 2017 to December 2019, Al worked as the Chief Product Officer at the same company, where they managed the production process, production planning, and studio operations, while also improving and documenting studio processes.

Before joining Pocket Pinata Interactive, Al served as the Executive Producer at Oh Help Media Corp. from January 2008 to April 2009. In this role, they were responsible for the design, production, and business development of an online service using patented technology. They also managed an external development team.

Prior to that, Al worked as the Lead Game Designer at Gas Powered Games from October 2005 to December 2007. They were responsible for designing, prototyping, and pitching new design concepts. They also played a significant role in designing and producing Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony and were the lead designer on a to-be-announced intellectual property.

Al also worked as a Senior Game Designer at Vivendi Universal Games from May 2004 to September 2005. Their role primarily involved systems design and level design on The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction.

Earlier in their career, from the year 2000 to 2004, Al worked at Electronic Arts Canada as an Associate Producer. They were involved in the production and design of various games, such as The Sims, 007 series, and Need for Speed Underground 2. They also spearheaded online play initiatives for The Sims: Live MMO prototype.

In 1999, Al worked as a Management Consultant at Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro), where they were responsible for the design and development of an online community.

Al's career in the gaming industry started at Electronic Arts Maxis in 1998, where they worked as an Associate Producer.

Their earliest work experience dates back to 1990 when they served as the Creative Director at ICE Online Inc. They were involved in the production and design of MMOs, online games, and managing online communities, including the creation and development of The Majic Realm MMORPG and the Twilight Lands MMORPG.

Al Escudero's education history includes obtaining an Advanced Graduate Diploma in Management from Athabasca University in 2003, and a Masters of Business Administration in IT Management from Athabasca University Faculty of Business from 2003 to 2007. Both of these degrees were in the field of Business.
