James Heckler is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in materials and manufacturing, currently serving as the Associate Director at ARCTOS since December 2017. In this role, James leads various initiatives within the Air Force Research Lab's Materials & Manufacturing Directorate, focusing on composites, ceramics, and metallic materials. Prior to this, James held multiple positions within the same directorate, including On-site Technical Lead and Research Chemist. Earlier professional experience includes a role as Senior Scientist at Apollo Medical Devices, LLC, where James contributed to the development of chemical sensors for rapid blood analysis. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry and a B.S. in Chemistry, both from Case Western Reserve University, where James also engaged in research and teaching as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant.
