Mark Lebwohl

Dr. Mark Lebwohl is Professor and Chairman of the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Lebwohl is past president of the American Academy of Dermatology and chairman emeritus of the Medical Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation. He is the founding editor of Psoriasis Forum and of the Journal of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. He is editor of the Dermatology Section of Scientific American Medicine, and co-Editor-in-Chief of Skin, the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine. Dr. Lebwohl has chaired numerous symposia and has written, edited, or co-edited several books, authored or co-authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications and a similar number of invited articles and book chapters. Dr. Lebwohl played pivotal roles in the development of topical immunotherapy for the treatment of precancerous lesions known as actinic keratoses, in the development of topical calcineurin inhibitors for the treatment of psoriasis, in the development of numerous combination therapies for psoriasis including topical combination therapy, and in the introduction of numerous biologic therapies for psoriasis. He is actively involved in clinical trials of many new dermatologic treatments.
