Douglas Johnston

Dr. Johnson, a cardiac surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic Heart + Vascular Institute, ranked the highest volume with the best quality outcomes. He contributes significantly to the Clinic's 4,000+ heart surgeries yearly and actively pursues research interests in minimally invasive aortic valve surgery and interventions, complex valve disease, and transcatheter interventions for valvular heart disease. An avid outdoorsman with early experiences in carpentry, welding, and design, Dr. Johnston’s deep engagement with the pursuit of mastery as a leader of surgical teams tendered early conversations about human performance in medicine that became the genesis of Arena Labs. Dr. Johnston attended Harvard Medical School and went on to Massachusetts General Hospital for his Residency. He serves on the Medical Board of Beyond Limits and brings his experience in big data analytics to work in healthcare.
