Owen D. Hill

Owen D. Hill is the managing director of Credit at Ares Management. Owen has over fifteen years of experience in the financial sector, with a focus on energy finance.

Hill started their career as an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, one of the world's largest law firms. Owen then transitioned to Highland Capital Management, where they managed portfolios for the firm. In 2009, they joined BSB Capital, Inc., an affiliate of Beal Bank, as a senior manager for corporate debt.

In December 2009, Hill co-founded CLG Energy Finance, LLC, also an affiliate of Beal Bank. As managing director, they successfully originated over $1 billion in debt financings for the energy industry. Owen continued in this role until March 2014, when they joined Ares Management.

Owen D. Hill attended Duke University School of Law, where they earned their J.D. Owen also holds a B.A. from Columbia University in the City of New York and another B.A. from Columbia College (NY).
