Adrian Avendano

Adrian Avendano is the founder and COO of Ares Materials. Adrian has 7 years and 10 months of experience in the field of flexible electronics. Adrian is also the founder of Ares Flexible Electronics.

Adrian Avendano started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Dallas. There they studied and fabricated organic light emitting diodes and thin film transistors for their integration with flexible substrates, commercial and smart polymers. Adrian also characterized Pentacene and DNTT as semiconductors as well as different organic and inorganic dielectrics. Furthermore, they implemented OTFTs in matrix addressable electrode circuits to record and stimulate the nervous system. Additionally, they studied encapsulation solutions for devices for their use in in vivo environments as well as in multi electrode arrays.

After their time at the university, Adrian Avendano founded Ares Materials Inc. to enable a whole new generation of electronics, taking the concept of flexible electronics to the next level. Translating cutting edge research to commercial applications and transforming the current concept of what electronics can do. Novel bendable, wrappable, rugged and lighter electronics are just around the corner.

A few years later, Adrian Avendano again used their entrepreneurial skills to found Ares Flexible Electronics with the same goal as their previous company: to enable a whole new generation of electronics and take flexible electronics to the next level. By taking cutting edge research and translating it into commercial applications, they are changing the way we think about what electronics can do.

Adrian Avendano has a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Dallas in Materials Science and Engineering, a Master of Science from The University of Texas at Dallas in Materials Science, and a Bachelor of Science from Instituto Tecnológico de Saltillo in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering.
