Matthew Buoni

Matthew Buoni is a Principal Scientist at Areté, specializing in mathematical modeling, algorithm development, signal processing, and machine learning/AI. They previously served as Senior Principal Engineer at HARMAN International, focusing on perceptual audio testing and software design. Earlier in their career, Matthew held roles such as Senior Research/Software Engineer at Sonos, Inc., where they contributed to digital signal processing and machine learning for audio applications, and worked as a Research Engineer at Toyon Research Corporation. They also have teaching experience as an adjunct faculty member at California Lutheran University and previously taught at UCSB. Matthew earned a B.S. in Engineering Physics from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
