Aretee was founded in 2023 by Principal and Design Strategist Francesca Birks as a collective of designers and strategists. Aretee is a strategic design practice that helps institutions define direction and translate it into transformative programs, places, and institutional systems.

Working upstream of design and delivery, we align leaders, stakeholders, and strategy before major initiatives and investments begin. We also help institutions build the frameworks and structures that sustain future direction over time.

We work with universities, design firms, and mission-driven institutions during moments of transition and transformation, before design begins, when the question is who an institution wants to become.
