Thomas Margraf

Thomas Margraf is an experienced data science professional with a strong background in bioinformatics. Currently serving as Team Lead Data Science at areto consulting gmbh since July 2018, Thomas previously held the position of Senior Data Scientist at Maritime Data Systems GmbH from October 2016 to June 2018. Earlier career highlights include a Postdoc at EMBL from May 2012 to July 2015, where Thomas developed methods for protein structure comparison, and a PhD at the University of Hamburg from 2008 to 2012 focusing on protein databank analysis. Additional experience includes a role as Systems Administrator at Uni Hamburg's Dept. of Chemistry and a Research Assistant position at ZBH Uni Hamburg, where Thomas contributed to protein structure search tools. Thomas began the professional journey with an internship at SAP do Brasil. Academic qualifications include a Diplom in Bioinformatics from the University of Hamburg and a BSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Birmingham.
