Lana Cuthbertson

Lana Cuthbertson started their work experience in 2004 as a Project Coordinator at Volunteer Alberta. Lana then worked as a Student Group Services Manager at the University of Alberta Students' Union from 2009 to 2010, where they managed over 400 student groups and was responsible for risk management, leadership development, and event planning. Lana held various roles at the University of Alberta, including Communications Associate in the Faculty of Arts and Student Event Risk Management Coordinator in the Dean of Students Office.

In 2011, Lana worked as a Reporter at the Edmonton Journal before joining the University of Alberta again as a Communications Specialist in 2012. Lana later became the Cofounder & Chair of ParityYEG from 2018 to 2019.

Lana joined ATB Financial in 2014, where they held multiple roles, including Communications Specialist, Communications Manager, Senior Product Manager, and Director of Customer Experience Strategy & Program Manager.

In 2019, Lana joined TANK Worldwide as the Director of Strategy & Planning, and in 2020, they became an AI Content Strategist Consultant at Borealis AI.

Currently, Lana is the CEO & Founder of Areto Labs, a position they have held since August 2020.

Lana Cuthbertson completed their Master of Journalism degree from Carleton University, where they studied Journalism, from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Alberta, spanning from 2005 to 2010. Lana also holds a certification in Propel from Startup Edmonton, which they achieved in April 2022.
