Sean McGinnis has a diverse range of experience in various roles related to animal care and welfare. Sean started their career as a Kennel Attendant at AngelDogs Foundation Deaf Dog Ranch, where they were responsible for the basic care of dogs. Sean then worked as a Pet Caregiver at Best Friends Animal Society, where they provided cleaning and observation services for dogs and cats.

At Best Friends Animal Society, Sean also held the roles of Adoption Specialist and Lead Adoption Specialist, where they facilitated high-volume adoptions and provided post-adoption support. After completing their associate degree, Sean attended Culver-Stockton College from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Corporate Leadership. More recently, in 2019, Sean McGinnis received a Certificate in Animal Shelter Management from the University of the Pacific.
