Executive Vice President at Argent Financial Group

Dut joined Argent following his retirement from multinational accounting firm KPMG in 2019 after spending 40 years there. With Argent, Dut leads the company’s services for high net worth and ultra high net worth clients through the company’s Argent Family Wealth Services line of business.

During his time at KPMG, Dut led some of the firm’s largest accounts, serving global clients in the telecom and energy sectors. He also served on the KPMG board and was chair of the firm’s audit, finance and operations committee. He joined KPMG in 1979 as an audit assistant, transferring to the firm’s tax division in 1981 and then becoming a partner in 1988. From 1997 to 2019, he served as office managing partner of KPMG’s Shreveport office. Concurrently, Dut held national and global leadership roles and ran a start-up advisory practice, as well as having worked with several high net worth family groups.

Personally, Dut has served as an individual trustee for 30 years on both simple and complex trusts, involving the management of marketable securities, real estate investments, oil and gas investments and timber.

Dut graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana Tech University in 1979, earning a bachelor of science degree. He became a licensed CPA in 1981. He has continued to pursue accreditations within his field, attending and completing the executive education program of the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2006. In 2015, he attended and completed The Wharton School of Business’s executive education program. He also attended and participated in the National Association of Corporate Directors’ governance program from 2013–2018.

Dut is a past president and chairman of Loyola College Prep Board of Trustees, a past treasurer and executive member of the Boy Scouts of America’s NORWELA Council, a member of the Committee of 100, a Shreveport-based group of 100 business leaders, and is on the American Red Cross of Louisiana board of directors. He has been recognized as an outstanding alum by the Louisiana Tech College of Business in 2015 and by Loyola College Prep in 2000.
