Virginia Golden has over 35 years of experience in the medical manufacturing industry. Virginia began their career in 1981 as a Chemist I at American Diagnostics, where they compounded reagents for RIA and FIA kits, and performed radio-iodinations and fluorescent-tracer conjugations. In 1984, they took a position at Roche Diagnostic Systems as a Chemist II, providing technical guidance for lower classified chemists, compounding reagents and calibrators for fluorescent polarization assay kits, and writing and revising Manufacturing Records and SOPs. In 1985, they moved to ICN Pharmaceuticals as a Quality Control Chemist, where they improved product shelf life by conducting stability studies, ensured new compounds met catalog specifications by testing purity, concentration, and specific activity before placing into stock, and verified continuing quality of in-stock compounds using paper chromatography, thin layer chromatography, and electrophoresis. In 1988, they joined Quidel as a Process Development Chemist, working in the Formulation lab and compounding reagents for rapid diagnostic test kits, scaling up new products, and drafting manufacturing forms and SOPs, following GMP requirements. In 1992, they joined Hybritech Incorporated as a Research Assistant, supporting project teams developing bladder and breast cancer tests, designing and carrying out experiments, and presenting reports at group meetings, as well as preparing lab solutions and calibrating equipment. In 2016, they returned to the medical manufacturing industry, taking on the role of Formulation Chemist | Research Associate at Argonaut Manufacturing Services Inc., as well as the role of Senior Manufacturing Lab Tech, performing formulation and filling of reagents, standards, buffers, etc. for production lots, and reporting and documenting production results.

Virginia Golden obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine. In 2020, they acquired the Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant on Option B: Building Resilience certification from LinkedIn. In 2016, they received a Biotech Employment Skills Training Workshop Certificate from the Southern California Biotechnology Center, Miramar College.
